They sat late at night through the fast falling snow. The army of the great Persian Empire was taking it’s biggest gamble ever. To conquer or to be conquered. They are on the way to Rome, their mission to leave Rome the imperial city in ash and tremor without losing less than a thousand people. They arrive at dawn. Rome looks like a peaceful, normal city but in a few hours this city will be crumbling. It’s action team the cavalry sends out burning arrows, the infantry enter the gates and the navy is on the River Tiber catapulting tonnes of rocks that sent fire to destroy the houses. The Calvary and infantry destroyed the huge wall, but the 70,000 infantry were traveling down Rome’s aqueduct to cut of Rome’s water supply and the Persian catapulters were rampaging the city walls and blocking the roads that lead to Rome. He had just received news that would change the outcome of this battle. The Persian royal army had completely ravaged Rome, but the army had forgotten about the fort just outside Rome. Now 100,000 men of the Roman army were going to destroy the dream of Persia concerning the whole world. To be continued …………….
